Extension doesn’t talk to app on Firefox Nightly

I tested out 1Password 8 Beta and the beta extension on 2 different Ubuntu based Linux machines (Pop!_OS) and noticed that while the extension on the normal repo stable Firefox can talk to the app, the extension when installed on the Nightly PPA cannot.

I went and tried it again on Stable/Beta and Nightly versions downloaded right from mozilla and ran from the extracted directory and none of those talked to the app either. Is there anything special that needs to be done for the browser to be able to talk to the app? IS the browser path hard coded or something like that?

Ive used Nightly with extension beta 2.0.5 and the new 8 beta on Windows 10 and they talk fine.

Thank you!

[Edit]
Here is debug info from Nightly if it helps, seems like it has a sort of browser whitelist that Nightly is failing?
