How long should the account recovery emails take to show up?

I'm recovering my niece and nephews' accounts this weekend. For my nephew, the e-mail showed up pretty much immediately. For my niece, we've waited about 24h and it never showed up. I canceled and re-initiated the recovery and we're still sitting here 15m later waiting for it to show up.

I kinda need to get this knocked out before I travel back home tomorrow, so if anyone can help me figure this out that'd be awesome.
