1Password 8 beta browser plugin not working in Safari

I am struggling to get the 1Password 8 beta browser plugin to work with Safari.
I cannot get it to work with Safari Version 14.1.2 (16611.3.10.1.6)
I cannot get it to work with Safari Tech Preview Release 129 (Safari 15.0, WebKit 16612.1.24.11.7)

I have been able to install the extension.
I am able to run the 1Password 8 application.
The browser plugin does work with Edge and Firefox (I have not tried other browsers).

I did allow the plugin access to all pages when prompted during the installation.

When I select the icon in the Safari toolbar I am taken to a page with this image

I get the same behavior with Safari Tech Preview.

1Password Version: 80200044, on BETA channel
Extension Version: 2.0.6
OS Version: 11.5.2 (20G95)

    It works but I find it very slow sometimes it blocks upload

    Same here. It tooks minutes and it unlock eventually

    There are some known issues with the new Safari extension, especially in Safari 14. I had this problem too initially, but it's working for me now and much snappier in Safari 15. Are you still seeing this problem @freyman?

    @rob It is working in Safari Version 14.1.2 (16611.3.10.1.6)
    It is not working with Safari Technology Preview Release 130 (Safari 15.0, WebKit 16612.1.26.1.5)
