Need to know if there is a per user cost for Teams with more than 10 people vs forcing all the users into business license level.

Need to understand per user cost if team grows from 10 to 15 etc.

    Hi @jeremiah9980!

Need to understand per user cost if team grows from 10 to 15 etc.

A 1Password account is paid per user, regardless of the number of user. If your team grows by 5 people, you will add the cost of 5 users per month.

Need to know if there is a per user cost for Teams with more than 10 people vs forcing all the users into business license level.

A Teams user is currently $3.99 per user/month, while a Business user is currently $7.99 per user/month.

  • @jeremiah9980, hi again! Just wanted to chime in with one more quick thing in case if happens to relate to your question.

If you signed up for the special Teams Starter Pack tier, and you're interested in having more than the 10 allotted team members, I'd recommend reaching out to our Go To Market team at business@1password.com for discussing what the best option for your team is. They'd be happy to help with answering any questions you may have.

We ran into this issue and found out the hard way that 10 members + 5 guests is a hard limit for the Teams Starter Pack tier.

Once you grow from 10 to 11 members, there is absolutely nothing that your account rep or business@1password.com can do to help, short of having you upgrade to the Business plan. So indeed your $19.95/mth fee jumps 4x.

You also can't get more than 5 guests, even if you are willing to pay. The first 1Password sales rep we spoke to got our hopes up by saying we could pay $3.99/mth for additional guests beyond 5. However, that turned out to be part of an older policy that is no longer applicable.

To be fair, the Business plan includes a families plan for each member so it's still good value, but your organisation does need to be aware that 10+5 is a hard cap.
