Down arrow shortcut conflict and obstruction from 1p extension

Actually the 1p browser extension is a complete mess to use in pages forms
see the screenshot

it gets in the way into:
browser autocompletion (not showed in the ss above because of changing focus) when pressing down arrow since it opens 1P instead of navigate the dropdowns (both browser and page ones)
that useless miniwindow obstructs the dropdowns

1Password Version: 8.2.2
Extension Version: 2.1.7
OS Version: macOS 11.6

You're right, this is not ideal. Are you able to share the URL for the site where this is proving to be problematic?

Well the screenshot comes from aukey shop checkout page, but it happens everywhere there is a form for which the browser has some history (that is not shown because Mac screenshot app removed the focus making the browser drop-down disappear but is like this one https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https://userpage.fu-berlin.de/~rober/blog/wp-content/uploads/firefox-forms-history.png&imgrefurl=https://userpage.fu-berlin.de/~rober/blog/2020/09/deleting-only-form-history-in-firefox/&tbnid=EZhV1a0nHv_2lM&vet=1&docid=GcwrVbSQJTyiNM&w=666&h=429&itg=1&hl=en-US&source=sh/x/im )
In that particular case there is a (cookie based) JavaScript drop-down that autocompletes the other fields based on shipping address

Ahh yes, if you're comparing it to the browser autofill then I can see the conflict here. Ideally, we would recommend saving your details in 1Password directly and using it to autofill forms when you're on a checkout page. If you have several different contact cards that you use, based on where you shop, you can save individual Identity items based on that need.

If you wish to continue using the browser autofill history, you can adjust how 1Password behaves. Right click the 1Password icon in your browser toolbar and choose Settings. Under Autofill, disable "Show autofill menu on field focus". This will automatically disable the inline menu from showing when a field is focused. If you would like to use 1Password in the field, then clicking the blue icon will present you with the appropriate options.

Thanks, that's what I needed, that option is a little misleading, I tought it would disable 1P support inside forms completely
However it still shows the menu if 1P is unlocked, this time just under the browser popup instead of above
also it appears every time I click on a form field, shouldn't the setting disable it completely, and make it appear only clicking on the icon inside the field?

Thanks for confirming your updated state of play. I've reported this to our development team, hopefully we can implement a fix in an upcoming release. I do apologize for the disruption to your workflow here.
