Proper 1Password for Safari that matches 1Password 8?
From past experience (even earlier today) if I install the wrong one the 1Password 8 app won't launch anymore. But I have no idea which is the right one. What link should I use?

There are two extensions for 1Pasword - the classic extension and 1Password in the browser extension.
The classic extension should be used if you want to use local vaults together with 1Password 7.
If you are using 1Password 8 you should use 1Password in the browser extension, formerly known as 1Password X.The classic extension you will find here:

Thanks for trying to help here, @DenalB. Close, but not quite. We do not have 1Password Classic for Safari. With 1Password 7 the Safari extension was bundled with the v7 app (Safari App Extension). With 1Password 8 we're using Apple's newer Safari Web Extension technology, which requires a separate download from the Mac App Store.
Once you've uninstalled 1Password 7 the Safari App Extension should be removed from Safari automatically. The Safari Web Extension can be found here:
