Problem changing my email address

I'm trying to change my email address, and I receive the notice in the attached pic. For example, I want to change my email to johndoe@gmail.com. While 1P states that the account exists and the email address is mine, I can't find johndoe@gmail.com anywhere in my info. Thanks.
