With the new 1password 8 for Mac, the images stored in items cannot be previewed directly in the app. The only options are:
1) Use the preview button, which effectively downloads an unencrypted version of the image to the file system and keeps it there
2) Download the image locally, which (of course) creates a copy of the image in the file system

both options make the image available locally which is not secure at all

In previous versions, the image was displayed directly in the 1password window without downloading it.

Is there a way to bring back this functionality?

    Hi @bsales, thank you for this request. This is something that hasn't yet been implemented in 1Password 8, but we do have a feature request open for it with our development team. I have just added a vote for that feature on your behalf as well, with thanks to you for letting us know that this is something you found useful in 1Password 7.
