I have been using the onepassword beta for mac. After updating to 1Password for Mac 8.8.0 build 80800011, on BETA channel, my ssh agent socket disappeared. There is no longer a ~/Library/Group Containers/2BUA8C4S2C.com.1password/t/agent.sock or a ~/Library/Group Containers/2BUA8C4S2C.com.1password directory.

My preferences say that it is active and set up correctly. My ssh keys are in my personal vault.

What other steps can I take to debug this?

  • Just to verify: what do you get when you run ls -l ~/Library/Group\ Containers/2BUA8C4S2C.com.1password/t?
Sockets are hidden files, so if you spotted this using Finder or another a GUI file explorer, it's expected that the directory is empty.
