Is there a better way to save a new login?

After filling out a form, but before submitting it, what's the way you're supposed to save a new login? (In Safari.)

In the old 1Password, you could click the 1Password icon and click something like "Save Login". The new 1Password has a "New Item" button there, but this just creates a completely blank new entry, which seems surprisingly useless.

The only way I've found so far is to right-click the page and do 1Password > Save Login, which works, but seems a bit, hacky?

Is there a better way I'm missing?

1Password Version: 8.7.0
Extension Version: 2.3.3
OS Version: macOS 12.4

  • Hey @DavidGA:

Great question! If you're using the inline menu to generate a password, you should be prompted to save the login in 1Password, like so:

Let me know if that's what you're seeing!

I am not using the built-in password generator.

  • Hey @DavidGA:

If you're manually entering in a password then, the inline menu should offer to save the item, like so:

Clicking "Save in 1Password" will offer to save the details in 1Password.
