Bug: SSH key copy/reveal different from actual key

Hi,

I am using 1Password 8 on all my system to manage some ssh keys (rsa and ed25519).
All have been created locally and uploaded to the 1Password client.

I've now noticed that when I click copy on the private key entry it copies an entirely different private key.
It has the format of a proper private key, the content is just different (and too short).
I get the same false key when I click reveal.
Downloading the private key downloads the correct private key.
The public key is not affected from this behavior.

This happens with both rsa and ed25519 keys.
It happens on all my OSes.

Let me know if you need more info to be able to resolve this.

  • Hi @flabber,

This is intentional. Copying/revealing shows the key in PKCS#8 format, downloading converts it to the OpenSSH format. This is why the two are different.
