The 1Password vault has an entry for "1Password Account (my name)" but the password is bogus. It looks like some auto-generated password. I cannot log on to my account using this. I have a PW I came up with and that one works well.

What has happened here? How do I fix it?

1Password Version: 1Password for Windows 8.8.0
Extension Version: 2.3.7
OS Version: Windows 11

The password recorded in that entry looks like this (I have changed all the characters for this post):

  • Hi @bertilak:

When you create your 1Password account, the Starter Kit item is created, which includes your account password. If you'd like to fix this, you can edit the "1Password account (your name)" item to be your correct account password.

    Thanks Jack.

I have deleted the old PW and put in a working PW.

I still don't know how a PW I don't know got into that entry.

I will create a new Starter Kit, or is that called an Emergency Kit?
