The Sony/Playstation website does not work correctly

When trying to log into my Playstation account from Firefox on Ubuntu, it always tells me my username or password is incorrect.

First I autocomplete the username (my email) using 1Password, this works fine, then I autocomplete in the next step my password and click Sign In, that's when it tells me it was wrong. I have to copy my password manually and, when I enter it, it's correct so I guess the extension is entering my email when it should be entering my password.

This is the website: https://my.account.sony.com

    Hey @jesusjimsa !

I'm not able to reproduce this in Windows 11. I'm using Brave browser with 1Password in the browser v2.4.2 beta and 1Password for Windows v8.9.0-1 beta.
Did you already try switching to the beta build of 1Password in the browser? You can get it here: Get 1Password beta for Firefox

    Hi @DenalB,

I don’t have the beta, I prefer to wait for the official release. I’ll try again when the new version is released, maybe they fixed it there already.

Hey @jesusjimsa! I tested this with the stable version of the extension and I was able to sign in without any issues. Could you try saving a new login to the site manually and see if that helps? Here's how to manually save a login: https://support.1password.com/save-login-manually/

    Hello @Joy_1P,

I have just tried saving the login manually as it's explained in the link and it happened again. I have recorded a video of what happens:

The exact same thing happens with the original Playstation login.

Hey @jesusjimsa, it doesn't look like the video made it to us. Could you provide a link to it or perhaps send it to us in an email at support+forum@1Password.com?

If you send an email, please include:

Let me know if it doesn't work either and I'll send it to the email.

@jesusjimsa Thanks for the recording. I was testing on the English version of the site but I see that you're using the Spanish version of the site. Can you tell me if you're accessing that through https://www.playstation.com/es-es? Are you using any extensions to translate the page or anything like that?

@Joy_1P Yes, I access through https://www.playstation.com/es-es. No extensions to translate anything. I only have the 1Password extension, and the Super Agent (for cookies) and DuckDuckGo extensions. I just tried disabling them and the issue is still there.

@jesusjimsa Just to check, how many characters are in your password for the site? Don't tell me what the password is, but let me know how long it is. I'd like to check if it meets the website's requirements.

    @Joy_1P it has 32 characters.
And it does meet the requirements because, if I enter it by copying it, it works fine. The problem is just with autocomplete, somehow.

@jesusjimsa The website has a requirement of 30 characters max for the password. Here is a screenshot showing that in the website's code: https://share.cleanshot.com/phJUia.

When you copy and paste the password in, the website truncates it to 30 characters and that's why you're able to log in. However, if you use 1Password to fill, the website doesn't truncate the password and tries to submit the entire 32 character string. That's why you cannot log in. The solution is to edit your login, remove the last two characters from the password, and save the changes. Outside of that, you can change the password for the site completely but please make sure there are only 30 characters in it. Afterwards, you can try filling the password to the site, and it should work. Let me know how that goes!

@Joy_1P wow, that’s an interesting situation. I would have never thought of that.
Anyway, I just change my password to one with 30 characters and it works perfectly now.
    Thank you very much 👏👏
