Password issue with Mac App

I have recently changed my password for the 1password.com site. From that point on, I am not able either to login to the desktop app nor to use the chrome extension. The app says I should check my password and try again. For those who would like to suggest to use the prior password: I wouldn't have changed it if I could remember ;-)
