How can I find a login if I know only a few characters of the password?

Chase sent me notification that my username and a password were found on the Dark Web. They said the compromised website was unknown. They gave me only the username I used and the last three characters of a (randomly generated) password. I'd like to change that login. I need to search my vault using just three characters of the password. Is this possible?

  • Hi there @dmbulfer

You can search for partial passwords in the Search box at the top of the window. Make sure you click "Show all matching items" or press ⌘↩ (Command–Return) to see the list of results.

As an example, I entered the last three characters of the example password for this example item and it appeared:

Additionally, you might want to check Watchtower, since this will also alert you to any breached, vulnerable, or weak passwords for websites.

Use Watchtower to find passwords you need to change

Give that a try and let me know how you get on. I'll be here if you need further help. :)
