1Password 8 Assumes the Wrong Keyboard Layout

I have installed 1Password 8 on my 14" M1 MacBook Pro. When I try to change the keyboard shortcut for Autofill (or any other shortcut) the application detects the shortcut in the wrong keyboard layout.

For example, I would like to autofill by entering "CMD+§", where § is the button right below the ESC button on a UK Mac keyboard. Instead, the key that 1Password detects is "`" (backtick), which is the key located in the same place on the equivalent PC layout.

Is there any solution or workaround to this?

  • Hello @Another1PasswordUser! 👋

I'm sorry that you're running into trouble when setting a keyboard shortcut using a British keyboard layout. Our developers are aware of some issues with setting shortcuts using certain keyboard layouts and are investigating. In the meantime, you can experiment with different keyboard shortcuts to find one that works in the keyboard layout that you're using.

I know that this isn't an elegant workaround and hopefully this can be fixed in the future. I've added your report to the internal work item open for the issue.
