I bought a new MacBook Pro and set it up as a new computer. I downloaded 1PW 8 and it works fine. However, I have no Safari extension showing. When I go to Safari extensions it shows, it just doesn't work. I tried deleting 1PW and it won't delete, because it says it is open, even though it is not open. I used Finder to force quit 1PW, but it doesn't show as being open, so I can't trash 1PW and redownload it. So I tried re-downloading it anyway. Still no extension on Safari.

When I try to start using 1PW in Safari (the text box that opens) it says "Finish Setup in Safari". When I click on that nothing happens. What now?

1Password Version: 1Pasword 8.10.4
Extension Version: 2.10.0
OS Version: Ventura 13.3
Browser:_ Safari

Note: I couldn't get this to post, so I sent an email. I don't care how I get help, so no need to double responses.

Please open it at least once and follow the directions being sure to allow it access to all sites. We need that permission to perform the following on your behalf.

    • The ability to scan (read) the page HTML to determine if it’s fillable. This also tells us where/when to inject the inline menu.

    • The ability to autofill (write) to the site. While performing an autofill, it effectively changes the HTML. When you submit the autofill, it will allow you to authenticate it properly.

There is no need to add 1Password for Safari to your login items or Dock. It only needs to be opened once for the initial configuration. From then on it can live silently in your Applications folder.

Try opening Safari > Settings > Extensions and complete the setup.

I'm sorry, I don't have a clue what you are trying to get me to do. When I open the extension I see what you are showing in the second screen shot, except my 'Edit Websites' is grayed out and not clickable. I see no place else to allow anything. And I've gone here a half-dozen times and have not seen any change. I still get nothing to fill in any password box and have to go back and forth to 1PW to copy and paste websites, user names and passwords.

Never mind. I finally found a Google site that walked me through it.
