Hi,

I use an older Family Account using "my.1password.com" when I created it there was no EU Server Option. What is the best way to migrate from the US based servers to EU? Is that possible at all to change an account?

Thanks

  • Hi there @solarizde

    You can move your 1Password data to an EU-based account by following the steps shown in this article from the 1Password Support website:

    1Password in your region # Change your region

    If you need help along the way, send us an email at support@1password.com. We don't have any access to your account information here on the 1Password Community.

    Thanks,

    but the way of doing that is really bad UX. It already start on account creation, when I go to eu.1password.com and choose create account I will see a general form on start.1password.com no way to select EU here. If I enter my account data to create a account it looks like it is still using .com ?!? because it even tell me I already have an account.

    But if I go to eu.1password.com and try this account it will fail to login because account not found.

    Also in case of my family membership, does that mean that each of the family manually need to resetup 1p and create a new account? So there is no way to "move" existing accounts over?

    @solarizde

    You would use the following depending on your needs.

    https://my.1password.com for the .com
    https://my.1password.eu for the .eu region
    https://my.1password.ca for the .ca region

    There is no way to migrate an account from one region to another. They are totally isolated. Your family would have new Emergency Kits, Secret Keys and even have the ability to use different account passwords.

    But if I go to eu.1password.com and try this account it will fail to login because account not found.

    You would NOT use eu.1password.com to login. Please see the listing above.
