Filling in MitID using 1Password

Options

I have a frustration using your extension 1Password 8 to fill in MitID.

All banks and government websites in Denmark have more or less the same form of authentication. MitID.

When using the autofilling feature, the button is still disabled, and you have to removed 1 letter manually, and re add it, then the button will become active.

I just saw that you released the Auto-Type feature for Windows apps, could this not be implemented on the browser also, for simulating keyboard presses, and get around all the websites that have bad form validation?

You can test it for yourself here:
https://nemlog-in.mitid.dk/login/mitid

I am also referencing to an old thread about the old system NemID which was replaced by MitID:

1Password Version: 8.10.28
Extension Version: 2.22.1
OS Version: Windows
Browser: Chrome

    Hello @danieljameswilliams! 👋

I'm sorry that you're running into filling issues on the website in question. The link that you posted doesn't seem to work for me but I've reproduced the issue with the User ID field when signing in using https://www.mitid.dk/. Let me know if that's not the same issue.

Our developers have an internal work item open for this website but it looks like it would require a significant reworking on how we fill logins in certain situations which has to be done carefully so that security and accuracy of filling isn't compromised.

For the time being, you can workaround the issue by deleting and then typing the last filled letter so that the submit button become available as you mentioned doing. I would also recommend that you provide feedback to the developer of the website in question to let them know that you'd like to be able to use your password manager to fill your logins into their website. The same behaviour occurs when filling using other password managers so this seems like a deliberate choice that the website in question has made to prohibit filling from password managers in general.
