Will the Chrome extension installed from https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/1password/hdmbinomkfhmgknkoicejolfdfjeajmk automatically update to version 4 or do you recommend removing that version and adding via https://agilebits.com/browsers/index.html?

You should normally use the new extension, but it doesn't work yet (install link broken : http://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/16248/1password-4-chrome-extension-fails-to-install).
There is no automatic updates as far as I know.

The new extensions work fine in Firefox and Safari.

    Hi @neoraptor and @andrewkendall,

Good news - we've now fixed the error with the Chrome extension - you should be able to install the Chrome extension from our website:

    https://agilebits.com/browsers/index.html

Please let us know if you run into any more trouble, or have any other questions!

  • Just to be clear, the 1Password 3 extension will not be upgraded to 1Password 4 extension. We intentionally created 1Password 4 extension separately because not everybody can use 1Password 4 extension yet, such as the Windows users and also folks with older Macs that cannot run 1Password 4.

  • The windows users warning would have been really handy somewhere. Now that I've upgraded to v4 from the Mac Store and completely hosed my Windows installs is there anyway I can downgrade? Or will the new extension support Windows (very) soon?

  • Hi @hhubris,

You just have to disable the extension sync in Chrome, and disable 1Password 4 extension on Windows to use 1Password 3 extension on Windows while leaving the 1Password 4 enabled on the Macs.
