Your browser sends its user agent to every website you connect to. A user agent is really just a string of text that identifies the browser and operating system to a web server. From there, the website might display something different depending on your user agent.

If you change it, there likely won't be a very noticeable difference in browsing. And no, if you set user agent to Safari you won't browse in the Safari app, you'll still be in 1Browser - but it will be telling websites that you are using Safari (even though you aren't). For most users, leaving the default (1Browser) is likely the best option!

But, here's an example where you would notice a difference: If user agent is set to 1Browser, Safari (iPhone), or Safari (iPad) and you visit iCloud.com, you'll see a mobile landing page telling you to setup iCloud on your device. But, if you change your user agent to Safari (Mac), you'll trick the site into thinking you're using a Mac and you'll see the full desktop site.
