Sharing vaults between users

I have a lot of joint accounts with my partner, and I'd like to create a 1password vault so that we can share the login information for these accounts. is this doable?

I figure that we can manage the back end by putting everything into a shared dropbox folder - dropbox will handle keeping data in sync, but can 1password handle this setup?

The FAQ says that 1password for iOS does support sharing information via Messages, but IMHO this is just a bad hack (using an out of band communication mechanism is just asking for trouble). Even if it wasn't - it puts the burden of information sharing back on me, which is exactly the sort of problem that I am trying to avoid by investing in 1password.
