This does not come up at times and even when I try to restart it often fails to come up

    Hi Malcolm,

    I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with the 1Password Mini. Please check in Preferences > General and ensure that ‘Always keep 1Password mini running’ is enabled.

    If the Mini is still missing, please let me know!
