1Password 6 - Firefox plugin no longer working

I use 1Password 6 with the Firefox plugin for 1Password mini.

But a few days ago it stopped filling in the username and password credentials on a web page, so I now have to manually copy and paste the credentials.

Why has it stopped working and how can I fix it ?

  • Hello freeflyer! 👋

Welcome to the community! Both 1Password 6 and the 1Password classic extension haven't been updated in many years (since 2018 for 1Password 6 and 2019 for the classic extension) and they're no longer supported, you can find more details here: The 1Password classic extension may no longer work in your browser

To continue using 1Password in your browser, I recommend that you upgrade to 1Password 8 which has been developed and tested for the latest versions of Firefox and modern operating systems: Upgrade to 1Password 8

Upgrading is not possible now that 1Password has changed to a subscription business model

I am happy to pay for software, but not a re-occuring monthly/annual fee as this is a rip off for the consumer.

Can you recommend an alternative password manager that only uses a one off payment ?

I’m sorry to hear that 1Password may no longer be the right fit for you. Since this is the 1Password Community, discussions here are focused on 1Password. If you do decide to move to another solution, I wish you all the best and stay safe out there. To avoid the discussion drifting off-topic from 1Password, I’ve closed this thread. That said, our team will be more than happy to continue helping you over email.
