snozdop That's to be expected if you have the desktop app installed. The extension should automatically grab your accounts from the desktop app and set itself up without you having to manually sign into your accounts.
It sounds like on your first install the extension did not connect to the desktop app, which is why it tried to launch our website for you to log in manually.
If you completely quit the 1Password desktop app so that it won't run in the background, then uninstall and reinstall the extension, you might be able to reproduce it.
