Why does the 1Password Mac not sync reliably?

This is the 2nd time recently where 1Password data on my iPhone was missing information that was entered on the Mac. I had to go to the Mac, open 1Password, and then automagically the data on my other devices is updated. @Mork Did you happen to install 1Password from the Mac App Store, the main application that resides in your Applications folder? The beginning steps here will show you how to check the installed version. The Mac App Store version is by far the most common reason I see someone describe what you're experiencing.

UPDATE: The fix was to scream and yell and swear at my phone and smack the screen with my full hand like a frantic idiot. No joke. That did it. That fixed the problem. Hopefully this will help someone else.
