47 TopicsIs there a 1Password Referral Program?
I'm aware of the formal Affiliate Program on CJ Affiliate, however CJ is a high threshold affiliate program with a tax ID, etc. I'm wondering if 1 Password has a simple referral code I can send to people to sign up. I sign up clients, friends, and followers weekly. 1Password is easy for tech people but the majority of non-tech people can't be bothered by this stuff and the conversion of direct personal referrals is higher than posting on social media via an official program like CJ. I use CJ for my formal social media partnerships and it's not a great match for 1Password. It would be appreciated to get some kind of credit for it, since none of them would sign up without my help. Almost every other platform has something like this.138Views1like7CommentsUnlock, Auto-Lock Enhancement Request
Hi 1P team. I am an enterprise admin and I have a suggestion that would really make life lovely with the new policies. Would it be possible to add functionality to the options for the new lock unlock policies. I would love to be able to set a maximum permissible timeout, but allow a user to customize and to set a default. This would require an extra radio button and an extra field. For those admins that want to specify an option they could set the choice and default to the same and disallow customize. For instance "Unlock with device" could Set as a maximum of 1Week, a Default of 1Day, but have a radio button to allow user to customize, and allow them to chose any value more secure than the 1week maximum. Or example 2. 1password.com idle lock. Set a default of 10 minutes, a maximum of 30 minutes, but user can choose a shorter timeout value. I feel this should be a reasonably simple change and would allow a huge amount of additional functionality.15Views1like1CommentNew Forum feedback
At the moment I prefer the old forum. It was much more logically structured and easier to find stuff on and just browse topics. Maybe I just need to learn it more, but if something needs learning, then it's not intuitive. I would like the option to replace the infinite scroll pages (which you still need to click a button to show more), with standard pagination. Pagination shows up in your browser history, which makes it possible to jump to a specific page of posts you've previously visited. If you lose your place in these infinite scroll pages, you have to click Show More and scroll to the bottom and repeat, over and over again. Why? It's much more tedious than just jumping to a page in your browser history with one click. On the main Discussions index page there's no introduction to each of the 4 main sections to tell you what is in them. Lounge? What's that for? What type of posts should go in there? Same with Device Trust - what is it? Password Manager should be obvious, but it could mention that all flavours of 1Password are discussed in there (mobile, desktop, browser extension, Mac, Windows, Linux etc.). I would guess a lot of people have no idea what Passage is, and from this page they still wouldn't. Under these 4 main topic areas there needs to be direct links to sub-sections, so for example, you can go directly to the iOS posts in the Password Manager section, rather than having to click Password Manager and then the IOS tag in the Categories box in the side panel. I've no idea what Device Trust is! Even the Welcome to the Device Trust forum post doesn't say what it is or what you should ask in there. There needs to be more sub-categories in the Betas section. All betas, for all operating systems, for mobile, desktop and browser are lumped together with no way to filter. How do I find posts about only the Mac Chrome Beta browser extension? I can't. Why do the URLs not match up with the Breadcrumbs at the top of the page? For example, If you go into the Discussions > Lounge section, the URL is: www.1password.community/category/discuss/discussions/lounge - what are the extra red bits for? Also, the URLs for Resources and Champions are /connect/ and /advocacy/ - more inconsistency. Why is the Password Manager section not called 1Password, as that is the name of the product across all platforms that people will recognise? Inconsistently, it is called 1Password in the URL for this section! www.1password.community/category/discuss/discussions/1password When you click into an individual post or tag, the sidebar disappears so you can't navigate directly to another tag without having to retrace your steps. Why does the Discussions item in the menu bar have a drop-down with its 4 main sub-sections listed, but the Groups item doesn't? And why are 1Password Administrators and 1Password SDKs designated as groups and not discussions? They appear identical in functionality and UI once you click through. That's most of the things I've noticed so far. Overall I think it's been launched too early. There's too many inconsistencies and illogical UX decisions. Because you've launched it in this state, search engines will be indexing the current content under it's current broken and inconsistent URL structure making it difficult to fix without lots of broken links (or lots of redirects).497Views16likes14CommentsFeature request: auto-fill history
Hello 1Password Team, Most of the time, I use Apple Pay for online shopping, but today my credit card is locked because it's detecting abnormal transactions, I must have auto-filled the credit card detail in some fake shopping websites. It is not 1Password's fault, but I see opportunity for improvement, because I don't remember which website I've auto-filled my credit card. I would like to suggest a new feature for 1Password: Auto-Fill History. This feature would allow users to see a log of websites and apps where 1Password has auto-filled credit card information or other credentials. This would be particularly helpful for: Auditing where sensitive data has been used. Identifying websites or services where outdated or compromised credit cards might have been stored. Improving personal security by giving users better visibility and control over their data. A possible implementation could include a chronological history view for each credit card or login item, showing: Website or app name Date and time of auto-fill Option to delete entries from the history This feature would greatly enhance security, transparency, and usability for users who rely on 1Password to manage sensitive financial information. Thank you for considering this suggestion! Best regards, Joe19Views1like3CommentsDark Mode Toggle For New 1Password Community
Feature Request: Dark Mode for the 1Password Community Forum Why: Easier on the eyes at night, increasingly standard across websites Bonus: Could even follow system preferences like many forums do now! Would love to hear if this is possible.51Views1like3CommentsUnlocking speed increase when moving from M1 to M4 processor?
We're in the market for upgrading our Macs and were wondering if anyone has found a noticeable change in unlocking (or general app speed) when upgrading from an M1 to M4 processor? Single core speed increase is generally about ~ 80% based on GeekBench score, but was seeing if that seems "about right" in real life. Thanks!8Views0likes0CommentsSupport vs. Community
Many posts here are folks looking for or needing 1Password Support, or following up to an insufficiently prompt email response from Support, where there is little or nothing the Community can do to help or learn. Staff usually quickly respond to get the poster engaged with Support and close the thread to prevent crossing the streams, which is of course the right thing to do... except when the poster describes a problem or behaviour which others might encounter. In this case folks searching for the same or similar experience might find [Commentary of the efficacy of the search function omitted] the post, but no solution or useful commentary. For cases such as these, re-opening the thread and encouraging the poster to follow up with their results after receiving support would share the useful results, save folks from disappointment, providing solutions, and no doubt save 1Password billions in support costs. The timing and co-ordination is left as an exercise for staff.39Views2likes1CommentHas testing before release been cut back deliberately?
Three times this year I have been adversely affected by 1P releasing buggy software - in ascending order of annoyance and concern: The first was different sort orders in browsers vs the desktop version (now fixed in the latest version I believe). In fairness, it is possible that this had been there for years without me realising it and (eventually) raising it with support. it didn't affect data so was just an annoyance. The second was the frustration of safari constantly offering to save logins that 1P had just filled - I wasn't the only one affected by this - I am not sure if this one is fixed as I disabled some things as a (support suggested) workaround and haven't re-enabled them again yet. Todays Bug (Notes being truncated ) forced a passcode reset with a bank and cost another half an hour once I found the problem (I thought it was me and a specific note which I re-arranged and re-typed) before I thought to check the community rather than the main support site. The bug is a 'Known Issue' according to the 1P reply posted 25 days ago! The truncated notes bug hid information from me - it bcame visible when I clicked on the edit button (to put the new passcode in) but vanished once again when saved. Why is a bug of this severity (hiding info from customers) still not fixed? Why isn't there an alert? I'm worried. Can 1P still be trusted? Software quality seems to be in decline. Do the new(ish) owners not care about testing prior to release? Are they starving the testing team of resources? Do they not realise that their entire business depends on customers believing that 1P can be trusted with their data - having a bug that hides data from customers, and which isn't mentioned in the main support database when customers look for it does not inspire me with confidence.27Views0likes0Comments
