Why do you need access to the latest message in Slack?

Hi. When I try to connect our team account to Slack, it says that you will get acces to, among other things, the latest message in all my private and public channels. Is this correct, and if so, is that really necessary?
Thanks,
Anders

Hi @andershjort, I hope you're having a fantastic day! Great question and I'm sorry for the delay on our part. When implementing Slack, there is no way to get the channel names without having the ability to read the latest message which we do not do. The scopes are set in such a way that being able to read channel names is bundled in the same scope as being able to read last message. I hope that helps a bit more and let us know if you have any additional questions.
