Using 1Password 6 and 7 on different macs

I have an iMac running El Capitan and a MacBook Pro running Sierra. I am currently using 1Password 6 on both and sharing a vault on Dropbox. Since Sierra supports 7, I was thinking about upgrading. But since the iMac can't run 7, I would end up with one mac running 6 and the other running 7. Is that ok? Using the same vault in Dropbox? I assume the vault file is compatible with all different versions?

@ajahn - it's perfectly OK to run version 6 on one Mac and version 7 on another, syncing via Dropbox. If your sync keychain is an older-style Agile Keychain, I'd take the time to [upgrade it to the newer OPVault format], as 1Password 7 for Mac won't allow the older format. But if you're already using OPVault, then it should work just fine.
