How do I close 1Password7 to remove it from my Mac?
I have clicked on Quit 1Password with no luck. It refuses to close.

Still does not close. When I go to Move to Trash, a dialogue tells me it cannot be moved because 1Password7 is Open.

Do you see this?
That should quit 1Password completely.
If there is some 1Password process lingering, use Activity Monitor, and type 1pass into the upper right search area. See if there are any 1Password processes. If so, you can select them, and hit the X button in the upper left above the process list.

No, all I see at the bottom is Quit 1Password. I have not purchased 7 because I do not want it; however, it downloaded to my machine unknowingly to me. Now I am being asked to purchase a license. I have been running 6 and it works fine.

How did you remove 1password7? I am having the same problem and I can't use the browser extension on my Chrome on MAC since about a month ago. Very frustrating and now I cant open it on my phone. I had purchased the app (1password outright from Apple, a few years ago). I am fine with the old version.

@rosaserai - what are you trying to remove 1Password from, and what steps have you taken so far? To be clear, to remove 1Password 7 for Mac, you need to do the following:
- Quit all running browsers
- Quit 1Password 7 completely by typing
^⌥⌘Q
(or just holding down theControl
andOption
keys as you choose Quit from the 1Password menu). - Drag the 1Password 7 application to your Mac's Trash, then empty the Trash.
