Why the 1password x chose to login separately rather than sync with the desktop app?

Why the 1password x chose to login separately rather than sync with the desktop app like the old extension?

    Hi @akiyamakazumi,

Part of the original design spec was for it to be a completely standalone extension. That way users of platforms such as ChromeOS or Linux could use it even though we don't have a native client for those operating systems. We're working on creating tighter integration if the native client is present now that much of the foundations are present for those not using either macOS or Windows

    Hi @deodat,

It's not easy to make comparisons between the two, as they function a bit differently. Having said that, we've published an extensive article about the security of 1Password X: https://support.1password.com/1password-x-security/

If you're interested in learning more about 1Password security in general, have a look at https://support.1password.com/1password-security/

Hope that helps answer your question. :)
