How do I clean up old desktop and Dropbox synch

I used to have the Mac desktop version which synched to a Windows PC and a bunch of iOS devices via dropbox.

I moved to the newer Family Version (7.2 on the Mac, and everything current). I still have remnants of the old vaults around, and a Dropbox synch failed message that sometimes shows up.

What do I need to do to get rid of the old setup?

  • Hi @Steve261

The "Primary" vault should be removed from all devices after confirming that you can log in at https://my.1password.com/ and verifying all of your data is accessible there. Instructions for deleting the Primary vault can be found here:

    https://support.1password.com/migrate-1password-account/#set-up-your-other-devices
(you can skip the first step on devices that are already signed into your membership account)

Once complete you can also delete any 1Password related files from Dropbox. I hope that helps. Should you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to ask.

Thanks for the response. Are the only files on Dropbox the agile bits keychain? Or are there any other files (esp. vaults) that might still remain?

You're very welcome. .agilekeychain and .opvault files would be the two possible types you'd see for 1Password vaults in Dropbox. Any .1pif files could/should also be deleted if they exist, but those shouldn't be in Dropbox to begin with. :)
