I am trying to move items from my online vaults into a vault on my Mac but when I select "Move to Vault" all the options are greyed out. What am I doing wrong?

  • Hi @Heffor1

Not all items are compatible with standalone vaults. For example, Documents cannot be moved to a standalone vault. Please make sure you're viewing a single vault (not "All Vaults") using the vault switcher at the top left of the interface, make sure you are not selecting any Document items, and then try again.

Please let me know how it turns out.

Mostly they are logins. I am viewing in a "Team" vault and everything is greyed. Could having changed my license type from Team's to Family be the problem?

Also, under Vault/Edit Team Vault there is a greyed out note "Everyone in your family can read and edit items in this vault". Note it does not say copy or move

From what you have written so far, I don't think this is why you are seeing this.

Do you see the same thing when you try to move just a single item from one vault to another?

Yes, however, I can move items from my local vaults and my personal vault, the major issue is with the Team vault

@Heffor1: I think this might be related to permissions settings. 1Password Teams can be configured differently from other accounts when it comes to this, so I suspect this is why you are seeing this difference.

You need to make sure that you have the correct read/write permissions for this vault. Your Team Admin can do this for you by configuring your access rights to the vault.

    Hi,

This is confusing. I am now viewing the vault details online rather than local. Seems to say that everyone has view/edit, but the line at the bottom of the screen indicates that "This vault does not have any permissions to edit". What does this mean?

Edit Details does not offer anything other than changing the name of the vault.

More actions only offers the opportunity to delete the vault.

I have tried clicking on individual items to copy them but I do not have access.

I am expecting that I should be administrator for all these vaults. Is it possible that in the migration from teams to families the vault has lost connection with me being the admin?

@Heffor1: That sounds like you cannot change the vault's permissions because you do not have permission to change them. Are you an admin there? You can check in People in the sidebar. It may be better to shoot us an email at support@1password.com though, since we're not going to be able to discuss any account details here in a public forum. Please mention "brenty" and include a link to this discussion. I'll be happy to look into it. :)

Thanks Brenty. i went into people and there was an option to grant myself access to manage the vault. Problem solved.
