Master password not working
I have been using 1Password since the first iPad was released and just used it as a basic vault for user names and passwords. Since facial recognition came in I have used this more and the master password less. Last night, half asleep I used up all facial recognition chances then attempted every password I could think of. Today the correct (I think) pw won’t work.
1. Do I only get a limited number of chances with the password before you are permanently blocked
2. Can I turn on facial recognition again.
3. Does the “hint” give the true number of characters in my master password
I purchased the app but I do not have an ongoing payment deduction. Any help greatly appreciated

@chalkiau: Thanks for reaching out. I’m sorry for the confusion! 1Password doesn't know or care what your Master Password is; it simply used it as an input to encrypt the data when you set it up, and therefore it can only decrypt the data with the exact same input. Because the Master Password is needed to decrypt the data, you will need to enter it first to enable Face ID (or Touch ID). There is only going to be a hint if you'd set one up originally, so it may not tell you how many characters it is, or nothing at all if you didn't set one up. There is no limit to the number of tries you have, but you will only be successful ultimately by entering it exactly as you did originally. The tips in this guide might be helpful:

Alternatively, if you're part of a 1Password Family or Team, another Owner, Organizer, or Admin can help you recover your account, so you can create a new Secret Key and Master Password:

Again, you can try as many times as you want. You won’t be “locked out”, but you will not be able to access your data unless you can enter the required Master Password correctly. Please let me know how it turns out.

Thank you, that is reassuring. I have already started a logical list of variations

I just remembered the latest variation as I was writing the previous comment. I have now gained access. Thank you for your quick response.

Awesome! Thanks for the update. I'm relieved to hear you were able to do it -- perhaps you are more relieved, but that's good news all around. Have a great weekend! :chuffed:
