Hi Lars. Can you help me too? I cant find 1password mini for vers 7? Oh my it so hard this new 7 vers. I was using the standalone for the last 6 years. Now on v7 It takes me 4 times longer to do everything. I had the old stand alone 6 and paid for it and that was all super easy and fast. Now im spending days fixing many things. @Lars. I see you are prolific here on your helping others with similar issues and I was wondering if I could have some guidance on how to use the new 7 vers (now that I have deleted all local vaults and finally deleted vers 6 on all devices to stop conflicts) cause it seems like a while new workflow for simple things like "regenerate password" and the "autofill interface is very confusing" "missing mini interface" or am i missing something? FYI, I also hate the v7 User Interface design with the dark sidebar and non retina resolution it looks horrible. Just mentioning because this as feedback for your design team as your team probably should know that I originally on-boarded the app and paid for because of the beautiful minimal mac style design. It looks like a windows app now. see attached screen for some messy user notes.

Welcome to the forum, @AndreT! I'm sorry for the confusion. I'm also not really sure how to help, since most of what it seems like you're asking in your screenshot with the multiple arrows and text has already been asked earlier in this thread and addressed in previous replies by myself and other staff and community members.

Yes, the UI of 1Password mini's Strong Password Generator has changed somewhat. But the functionality remains mostly the same, even if the specific buttons/layout is no longer identical. The "Suggestions" icon you refer to in the top of your screenshot of 7.3 mini is the "suggested items" from the previous version. They've now been condensed into a drop-down, so you can choose what you view there. The + New Password button is the replacement for the Password Generator button in the sidebar of the previous version (which you indicated with an arrow). The "missing categories" are - once again - part of the drop-down menu I mentioned earlier. My advice to you is to spend some time using the new 7.3 and getting used to it; it's truly not that different from the previous version. The only things that have been removed is the ability to set the specific number of digits and symbols in a password (these have been replaced with a simple checkbox to include them, but not set specifically how many of them). Spend some time with the new mini's Strong Password Generator, have a read through the announcement of it on our blog and/or the in-depth release notes, and we think you'll come to understand it relatively quickly and easily. We're here for any additional questions you have, however! :)

This is a family friendly forum, so please refrain from swearing. Everyone knows exactly what you mean even when you replace one letter with a symbol. Posting here is a privilege, not a right. We'd like to help you work through any issues that you're having with 1Password but we're not going to be able to do that if you're unable to follow the rules you agreed to when signing up. I understand you're frustrated, but swearing at us isn't going to improve the situation any.

You've posted in a number of threads, mostly ones from over a year ago. So that we can best assist you and not disrupt other customers we've split your messages off and combined them into your own thread. Please don't reply to other people's threads until we've had a chance to address these issues for you.

Lars replied to your first comment, but we haven't heard back from you on those points since. Could you please read what he has written and let me know if you have any follow-up to that?

    Thanks.

    Ben

Apologies Ben, removed that word. Was a heated reply in the moment and I apologise for that. Not intended.

I did look at Lars's follow up - but it is just a list of starter kit links already visited and a request for the log. I am working on getting that to you guys in the meantime. Please accept my apology for the last post and I hope we can work together to get this all streamlined like I used to. WIP.

  • Excellent. Thanks for understanding @AndreT. I'm confident if we work together we can get this sorted for you. I don't see where Lars requested any logs, though?

Awesome, thanks for understanding too. πŸ™To Lars, Ben, and anyone else unlucky enough to read my posts.I feel bad for that last rant and reading it again I just want to apologize to you all. Wont happen again.

Regarding the report, I actually received a email from Gareth who kindly request a diagnostics report. See copy below with info redacted:

    Email from Gareth:
β€œIf you send me a diagnostic report for your Mac and let me know the problems you are having I will put together some custom steps to fix them. πŸ™‚

The link below advises how to run a diagnostic on your device.
    https://support.1password.com/diagnostics/

Once run if you then email the report through to me quoting the code below (including square brackets) in the subject line of your email I will be able to look at the data and see what needs to be done next.

    [removed case digits]

I look forward to hearing from you! 😊

    Many thanks,

@AndreT - thanks for understanding, truly. For our part, we can definitely sympathize with the frustration that comes with that "who moved my cheese" feeling of familiar UI elements not being where you expect them after an update. Since we've moved on to specific diagnostics that shouldn't be on this public forum, let's keep the conversation going via email from here. Gareth is great, you're in good hands. :)
