WHY DO I HAVE BOTH 1PW6 AND 1PW7 AFTER UPGRADING TO 1PW 7
Hello, I have a license for my mac OS 10.14.5 Mojave and originally purchased the license a 2 or 3 years ago directly from Agilebits. I have upgraded 1pw several times and installed the current version of 1pw 7 & the mini for firefox on May 28, 2019 with no problem signing in to the mini or the full app & using it . However, I think I installed it wrong or something because I have been having a problem signing in & today, June 20, 2019 I see 1PW 6, 1PW 6.2, 1PW 6 6.app.zip, AND 1pw 7. The new version of 7 did not remove the previous versions. I'm now having a problem signing in to 1pw 7 mini today, June 19, 2019.
1Password Version: 1PW 7.3
Extension Version: unsure
OS Version: Mojave 10.14.5
Sync Type: Not Provided

@RJMJ - I'm sorry for the trouble! It sounds as if you may have external/backup disks mounted which might contain the older versions, could the be the case? How did you find all of these versions -- was it via a spotlight search? If so, check where the other versions are located in your file system. In general, you should not try running multiple versions of 1Password side-by-side on the same Mac, as it can cause problems. But 1Password 7 for Mac should also not leave older copies in your Applications folder, which is why I suspect these other copies may be on external drives. Let me know what you discover.

Hello Lars, as I re-read your response, I "thInk" that "maybe" when it was time for me to renew my license, I probably clicked on the free trial of 1PW 7, thus I thought 7 was in place. But, when the "free trial" expired, I didn't pay attention to the words of "free trial". I looked at the license history now & I renewed it in 2016, making it time to renew. Both versions 6 & 7 are full applications, but the mini extension for 7 is not quite there. I need to answer the question that if I want to use this extension for 1password 7 for my firefox browser, correct? Then after "yes"then that is all I have left to do to complete my renewal of 7, correct? Will it removes the previous versions of 1PW?
I hope this all makes sense. Thanks!

Hi @RJMJ,
I need to answer the question that if I want to use this extension for 1password 7 for my firefox browser, correct?
Can you please clarify what the question is please? I think if I can understand what you mean here, I should also be able to answer your other questions:
Then after "yes"then that is all I have left to do to complete my renewal of 7, correct? Will it removes the previous versions of 1PW?

Hello sorry about that. That question isn't clear.
If I want to use the 1PW 7 Mini extension in the Firefox browser, I need to say "yes" to the pop-up that asks me if I want to add 1PW to Firefox - Yes?
My other question: When I get to the completion of the 1PW 7 renewal process, will 1PW 7 automatically remove the other versions? Or do I have to manually place them in the trash?
Thanks,

Yes, you need to click on Allow in order for the extension to be added to Firefox. The Firefox extension download page also shows you some screenshots of the process if you scroll down on that page a little bit. Is that the message that you are seeing on your computer?
My other question: When I get to the completion of the 1PW 7 renewal process, will 1PW 7 automatically remove the other versions? Or do I have to manually place them in the trash?
Once you install 1Password 7, the installer should remove version 6 automatically and put it in the trash for you. If that doesn't happen automatically for you, you can always manually drag the old 1Password 6 app from your Applications folder to your Trash, once you have made sure that all your data has been properly migrated inside version 7 :)

Hello ag-ana, thanks for your responses. After shutting down my computer last night, I think I did something that removed the old icon for the mini because this morning, only the one icon is on my toolbar.
So, this morning, I checked the previous 1PW version to 1PW 7 & it appears everything was good. I have removed the previous versions from the Finder as well.
Everything is okay now. Phew!!
Thank you for all your help.
