Can i use the CLI tool to fetch passwords from a local vault saved in a file ?

    Right now the CLI does not support local vault files, it only supports accounts on 1Password.com/ca/eu. There are some open-source tools written by the community around on the internet if you'd like to create some automation with local vaults.

    @c_hiller Have a look at https://github.com/mickaelperrin/onepassword-local-search. It uses the local database of desktop applications.

    @mickael: Thanks! It's a really cool tool, so some folks will certainly find that useful. But generally when we talk about "local vaults" and 1Password, those are what are used with a "standalone" license purchase rather than a 1Password membership -- i.e. AgileKeychain or OPVault. Cheers! :)

    There are definite uses for tools that access both local databases and standalone vault files :)
