Master Password Login Screen Issue
I have not seen this issue for a few years as I seldom used an iPad and now it is back? I last reported it in 4 years ago (2015). Image shown above. The login area is shortened.
The current one, as shown below, is from 1Password 7.3.x for iOS
The old one from 1Password 4 or 5?

Can you please send us steps to reproduce this? Are you able to make this happen consistently?

Unfortunately, it seems it is an intermittent issue. I used 1Password from Mobile Safari to see this and it does not always appear. Searching this forum for past discussions is hard.
Found the discussion now:
https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/48387/issue-with-1password-6-for-ios-master-password-screenI am not using the iOS 12 AutoFill feature, as it has been left disabled.
I agree, that second screen shot is much better :) I've filed a report in our internal tracker so we can take a look at it.
Thanks!

Thanks. I'm not able to reproduce that here either, but we'll keep an eye out for it. If you find steps to do it, please let us know.

I am not sure if it makes any difference but my devices are all Wifi + Cellular models. I currently don’t have a SIM in the card slot for the iPad. It is an odd problem.
- iOS 12 AuoFill is Off.
- Wifi + Cellular iPad. No SIM Card in the slot currently. Will test with the SIM included. Mobile Data On + Off.
- Mobile Safari 1Password Extension enabled.
- Once the problem appears rotating from portrait to landscape (or landscape to portrait) is the same.
At the moment the symptoms cannot be replicated.
My 4” iPhones never could rotate the screen so I could not detect if the issue affected any iPhones.

I currently use an iPad Mini 5 although it should not matter as at the time of the initial report I was using an iPad 4. Just thought I would add the device model in as well.

We are nearing the first decade of the iPad. After all this time and nearly 4 years after reporting this issue, I can’t be the only one who who’s noticed it can I? Scratches head...
My iPad 4, a standby device, was a “couch” device basically. I would not want to more annoying than I am now. :)

I haven't seen this anywhere else, certainly not on my own devices or those family, friends, and colleagues use. Very odd.

Would it be possible, as I don’t have any Plus sized iPhones to try, for Agilebits to rotate 1Password for iOS on any 5.5” or greater iPhone to see if the issue can be found there?
Thanks.

Not this weird "short Master Password" field, no.

Thanks. Yeah it's really weird to see it and for anyone else to not report seeing it.

Agreed.

Should I send in a Diagnostic Report when I happens again? Or for other peculiarities relating to the Master Password Screen or bugs? I am not seeing them now.

Diagnostics won't tell us anything about a display glitch. What would really help, as I mentioned above, would be steps to reproduce. That would allow us to debug in real time to figure out what's causing it.

Thanks. I will keep a look out for it and report back.

Sounds good. :) :+1:

If normal is supposed to be the master password field above the keyboard and centered, I sometimes do see them in other ways? I cannot pinpoint a reason why. When I get the chance, I should try splitting the keyboard to see what happens.
There are other threads about screen issues, not mine. I noticed at times when the password input field is not pushed upward, as it should be, although it isn't obscured. Either on the iPad or on my SE.

Among the discussions, one of the threads suggest disabling Background refresh. I have disabled it.
"Can you disable the background refresh for 1Password and see if it improves the communication between the extension and the main 1Password app?"
One of the links in the above discussion is dead ”Carousel” is an invalid link best left deactivated?

Background App Refresh is something I never actually think about. It is off in iPhones during Low Power mode and can be manually enabled or disabled on iOS devices.

Yep. :)

I am afraid not. We haven't been able to consistently reproduce this, so finding the root cause will not be very easy.

Understood. @ag_ana.
I will try replicating the steps if I can but the issue. Its solution is quite elusive and for the iPad especially as it is currently a play device. I'll reevaluate my options when iPadOS is out of beta. However, because iPadOS is another OS, there are no promises on whether the issue will resurface.

Sounds good, thank you! If you can find steps to consistently reproduce this, we will definitely be happy to take a look at this :)

As shown in this screen capture, the master password field is slightly hidden by keyboard, 100% of the time, in portrait orientation. The master password field doesn’t bounce up like it does in landscape orientation.
iOS 12.3.1 1Password 7.3.3.
Background App Refresh on or off makes no difference.

@wkleem: This we have seen, but have not found a way to work around it. iOS is supposed to shift the screen upward when the keyboard is invoked. But we'll see if there's something we can do to help. In the mean time, you can see the characters you input above your finger when typing.

Brent,
It happened again. This time I noticed my text input field (userid/password) was was active for the website I am (or was) in. It is still intermittent. I cannot trigger the bug consistently.
When the bug happens, it appears not to have anything I did, to trigger it, it just comes.

Ah, thanks for the update. We'll see if we can figure out a way to. :)

Thank you for looking into it. It has been a very elusive (and old) bug.
0 -
Agreed, elusive is the right word :)
