Apple erased my newly reset password. Old password works on iPad
I reset my password this morning. Saved it in contacts under an alias. Was using it fine. Then when I went back to computer and 1Password prompted me for password, command\ no longer remembered the new password and contacts had also erased the new password. The old password still works on my iPad because I don't sync it with other devices. But it won't allow me to change the password to a different password. It keeps giving me an error message.
1Password Version: most up to date
Extension Version: don't know CANT LOG IN

Thank you for confirming this @ckitsune. So you are not getting the error message when you are trying to change your Master Password on the iPad, as you wrote in your first post, correct? This is happening even before that, when you try to login to your iPad, judging by the error message.
I am sorry to hear about this. For your privacy and security, your Master Password is not stored anywhere, only you know it. This means that it is not possible to recover it unless you are a member of a Families or Business accounts. If you have an Individual account or a standalone license, I recommend reading this article to try and recover your Master Password.
If, on the other hand, you are part of a Families or Business account, you can ask another Admin to recover your account for you.
If you still cannot recover your Master Password, we can certainly delete your account so you can create a new one with a new Master Password you know. Please let us know if you would like help in doing that.

No. I AM able to login via the app on my iPad. It's when I go into security settings and try to assign a new password. It asks for the old password, which it accepts. Then I put in a new password and that's when the error message pops up.

I've read the article and it is completely unhelpful. The whole point of a master key should be that it functions like a recovery key wherein, if you lose your password it is a more secure way to retrieve your account. This is absolutely RIDICULOUS. Through no fault of my own I am going to lose all my logins?! I refuse to believe that. How can I export my information? By creating another vault will I be able to transfer this vault to a new account?

It's too late my iPad had time to sync somehow. I've now lost all access to the most important data in my life. Do you not see how completely INSANE this sentence is, from that article??? "If you forgot your Master Password, follow the steps below to try to recover it. After you unlock 1Password, you can change your Master Password." If you forgot your password, you can't unlock 1password! You should have a backup method!!!

Now I am confused: in your first post you wrote that you do not sync your iPad with your other devices, but in your latest message you wrote that your iPad now synced. I think it's better if we take a look at the logs and try to understand what happened that way. Please send us a diagnostics report from this device to support+forum@agilebits.com so we can take a look at your configuration and help you troubleshoot over there, without sharing account information on a public forum.
After you have sent the email, please feel free to post the ticket number you received so we can locate your message and get back to you as soon as possible.
Looking forward to your message!
