Error message is wrong
Hi All,
I am using Chrome and 1password in my MacOS, and I constantly see this:
The 1password is already installed and opened. Why does it keep saying that?
Thanks,

Hi All,
I am using 1password in Chrome. I have both the app and the add-on. When I go to a website, put my login and password and click Enter, 1password does not do anything. My login/password is not stored. Next time I have to do the same again. And again. And again.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

Hi @inviktor!
Can you confirm that you have installed the 1Password browser extension for Chrome already?

Hi ag_ana!
Yes, of course. I am using it ;)

Oh, I see something. I see I have two chrome add-ons installed:
1) 1Password X – Password Manager
2) 1Password extension (desktop app required)Which one I need?
Thanks!

Thank you for the confirmation! I asked because it's not enough to have the 1Password app installed, the browser extension needs to be installed separately, and I have seen a few cases where this wasn't the case :)
Ok, so if you have the extension installed in Chrome already, can you please try completely quitting and reopening your Chrome browser? Sometimes this happens because there is a pending Chrome update, and if that's really the problem here, closing and relaunching Chrome so it can apply the update usually is enough to fix this.

Hi ag_ana,
I think this is the same issue as the other one you commented on.
- Latest version
- At the time of writing this post I had just one extension: 1Password X – Password Manager
- Chrome version 76.0.3809.100 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Thanks!

Hi ag_ana,
I am confused :) I see two plugins in Chrome extensions menu, not one.
1) 1Password X – Password Manager
2) 1Password extension (desktop app required)Which one is the one I should use? I have two icons also, which is confusing.
Thanks!

I have two icons also, which is confusing.
I think that this is exactly the issue. It's up to you which extension to use, but you only need one.
1Password X works entirely in the browser, and therefore does not need the desktop app to work. The 1Password extension (desktop app required) requires the 1Password app to be installed instead.
After you have chosen which one to use, can you please try removing the other one and see if that helps?

I have also merged the two discussions for now, because I agree with you that I think the two things are related ;)

Hi ag_ana,
I removed 1passwordX, and kept the other one, and everything works now :)
Thanks for the help!
