I want to use 1Password to generate a new password for a website account. In Safari on my iPad, the 1Password extension does not appear in the “share” thing. I already installed the 1Password app.

  • Hi @brittencellist

The first time you go to use 1Password's share sheet extension you have to enable it. Instructions can be found here:

Use the 1Password extension to fill in Safari and apps on your iPhone and iPad

The key is that it is in the bottom row of icons (black and white), not the one above it (color). This trips up a number of folks. :)

It appears the instructions have changed with iOS 13. This version no longer has the second row of icons like previous versions of iOS did. Instead there is only one row of icons, and then everything else is listed below:

Please open the share sheet, scroll to the very bottom, select Edit Actions..., and then make sure 1Password is enabled.

You can also (optionally) tap the green + button to add 1Password to your 'favorites' which will make it appear closer to the top of the list.

I believe not. It seems this is the same differentiation that was previously made between the first row of colored icons and the second row of black & white icons. Now instead of being a second row of black & white icons these types of extensions are listed below. I'll keep an eye out to see if there is a way to change that, but at this point I don't suspect there is.

It isn't a matter of privilege but rather function. My understanding of the distinction between the top row of icons and bottom row (now list) is the functions that choosing that icon will provide.
