1PasswordX vs 1Password (desktop app required) for Chrome
I see that at different times I installed two different extensions for Chrome (77.0.3865.90 on MacOS Mojave): 1PasswordX and 1Password beta (desktop app required). I wanted to ask:
1. are they both legitimate?
2. if so, what is the difference? (I am sure this has already been explained, I am just confused about what information is up to date)
3. If I have the standalone app 1Password 7, which of the two extensions should I use?
Thank you in advance.
1Password Version: 1Password 7
Version 7.3.3.BETA-2 (70303002)
Extension Version: Beta 4.7.5.1 (inactive) and 1Password X 1.16.2
OS Version: MacOS 10.14.6

Hey @MarcoVF,
When you say 1Password beta, do you mean the 1Password companion extension?- are they both legitimate?
They are.
- if so, what is the difference? (I am sure this has already been explained, I am just confused about what information is up to date)
The main difference is that 1Password X runs on web browsers and does not require a desktop app, but it requires a 1Password membership. You can see more details here: https://support.1password.com/getting-started-1password-x/
- If I have the standalone app 1Password 7, which of the two extensions should I use? Thank you in advance.
With a standalone license, you can use the 1Password companion extension (desktop app required).
