Syncing to a new iPad no longer seems possible with licensed 1P.

Never had this problem before. New iPad. iMac on 10.14.6. Still on a licensed 1Password 6.8.9 on my Mac computers, with nothing ever in the cloud, dropbox or anywhere! Downloaded 1Password app 7.4.1, which is also on my other iPhones and iPads with no problem. It won't let me wirelessly sync without a secret key, which, as I don't have an account, I presume I don't have. Have you now locked me out without a purchase of v7? Even then, I would not want to sync in the cloud - just locally. So, I would still get stuck, wouldn't I?

    Thanks. It might have been helpful if the iPad app said "enter the WLAN secret key," and then I would not have been confusing things with the account secret key! I had a sudden shaft of light in my old brain at some awfully late hour :-)

    @jhk:

    The WLAN server does not require a Secret Key, that's something only subscribers with a 1Password Membership have. If you don't have a Membership, and you sync your data via WLAN, the app will not ask you for a Secret Key.

    To be fair, the Mac program (in preferences) does say to enter the "secret" when prompted during a WLAN setup - not "secret key". This is a string of letters. It's a one-off entry for an additional device one is setting up. However, I seem to remember that the iPad app now asks for a "secret key" which confused me. If I've remembered incorrectly, I'm sorry, but I'm not about to delete everything and start again just to prove the point ;-)

    Indeed, you'll be asked for a Secret Key when you've selected the option to sign into a 1Password membership account, since those involve a Secret Key. If you don't have one, you should not select that option. Cheers! :)
