I often need to select a password twice using the browser extension

I can't find exact steps to reproduce, but I'll often go to login in on a website, hit my shortcut to open 1Password (cmd+ctrl+\ for me), then select the desired password from the list. However, the browser does not populate. I have to repeat the process to get it to actually work.
