The system does not recognize manually adding login for my routers.

I have both a Sabai (Tomato based) and a DD-WRT router. The system does not recognise the login on either of them, even if I do it manually. They are accessed by IP address, not by URL, but I have other IP address based logins that worked.

    Hi @johnfarmer! Welcome to the forum!

    Can you please clarify what you mean by "not recognise"? Where exactly is the process failing?

    When I go to log on the system dos not recognise it automatically. If I try to add it manually, it does not recognise it, it simply ignores it when I click on "Save new login". FWIW they both use http not https, I don't know if that is a reason?

    @johnfarmer:

    Thank you for the clarification. What website is this happening with please so we can test it here too?

    It is not a web site, they are gateway routers inside my house and are not externally accessible for obvious reasons. One is a linksys whose factory software has been replaced with DD-WRT (https://dd-wrt.com/), the other has a modified version of Tomato (http://www.polarcloud.com/tomato) put out by Sabai (https://www.sabaitechnology.com/). In order to test you will need to set up a compatible Linksys router with the software. The cost of a compatible router is peanuts, the software is open source.

    @johnfarmer:

    If you look at these items inside the 1Password app, specifically at the website field, is the correct IP address shown there?

    I do not know what you mean. They do not get saved in the first instance. See screen shot uploaded.

    Hey @johnfarmer ,
    The login you are showing us here is a basic authentication popup of the browser, not an actual login page. 1Password relies on the HTML code to identify fields it can autofill, and basic authentication popups like this one are not HTML, and therefor 1Password will not be able to autofill it.

    However, if you have a membership account with us, you might want to try 1Password X, as it can open and fill basic authentication popups in most cases by injecting the username and password into the URL. You can download and install it from here: https://support.1password.com/getting-started-1password-x/
    Then instead of trying to autofill, simply try to "open and fill" from the login itself in 1Password X.

    OK thanks for the explanation. I saved the password in the system, I am not particularly bothered about whether it can autofill as it is rarely accessed.

    Ah, good to know.
    Glad we cleared that up. Let us know if you need help with anything else :)
