New Login fails at <https://mail.protonmail.com/login>
ProtonMail changed their login page (layout & URL) since I last logged in.
When 1Password did not offer to save first login at the new site, I logged out and back in. This time, I manually asked 1Password to save a “New Login” from the gear menu.
Before actually logging in, I refreshed the page and asked 1Password to fill in my newly saved login. That failed: my password appeared in the Username field, and the Password remained empty.
Checking 1Password's new ProtonMail login, I see my password in the Username field and no password field. Both 1Password and I are confused.
1Password Version: 7.3.2
Extension Version: 7.3.2
OS Version: macOS 10.13.6
Sync Type: 1Password Family

I've done additional testing at the ProtonMail site, and it appears 1Password is now working.
My earlier login timed out. So I logged in manually. This time, 1Password gave me the option of saving a new login or updating an existing. I chose to update the login I'd manually created earlier. That login now has my username and password, and 1Password successfully logs me in.
I remain confused by this scenario.

Hi @Ward!

Even if a website changes, it should not be necessary to update the 1Password item, since the credentials are the same. Can you please elaborate a little bit on why you tried to update your 1Password item as well, in response to the change on the Protonmail website?

When I logged into new ProtonMail site, 1Password was unable to fill in my username & password because the domain name had changed from https://protonmail.ch/login to https://mail.protonmail.com/login.

Hi Ward,
Thanks for the additional details. In the future, for something like this, where you're sure the URLs are equivalent, you might consider just adding a secondary website to your original item, rather than creating a new/secondary item. 🙂
