Disable 1Password dark mode while keeping system dark mode

Hello, I have macOS system dark mode enabled but I prefer to have apps which I use for productive work in bright colors. Works for the apps I use (Todoist, Telegram, Bitwarden, etc. all have their own settings) but how does it work here?

(please don't tell me that you don't have such option and that I would have to change system color... better design and custom icons for websites were the only reason I switched from my paid Bitwarden subscription to 1Password  )

Thanks a lot in advance.

You can download a free app called NightOwl that lets you specify which apps are Dark Mode-enabled and which are not.

  • Hi @someuser

We don't have a supported option for using a different color scheme for 1Password vs the system specified one; sorry.

Thanks a lot, Ashley. This workaround will help for now.

Are there plans to add an option, Ben?

  • No plans, but I can certainly pass the feedback along. :+1:

Any options for turning 1P dark mode off in IOS? I prefer dark mode for most stuff, but not 1P.

  • No; sorry. Dark / light mode is an OS level setting.
