Master password not accepted in iOS or second Mac

I recently upgraded from 1P6 to 7 and had to change my master password.
The new password works on any device's website and in my iMac app (Mojave).
Neither the old one nor the new one work on my MacAir (High Sierra) or my iPhone8 (12.4.1).
Password also no longer works in 1P6 in either computer
All three devices have an updated 1Password.
How can I get these ancillary device apps to accept my new password?

Also, in Safari 13, there is no checkbox marked “Automatically update extensions from the Safari Extensions Gallery”.
I had to restart it to update the extension.

Thanks

    Hi @Swivelable!

I recently upgraded from 1P6 to 7 and had to change my master password.

Updating from 1Password 6 to 7 does not require a new Master Password, unless you signed up for a 1Password Membership in between. Just so we have all the information, can you please confirm if this is the case?

    Hi Ana,
    Thanks for your reply.
As someone who does not appreciate monthly/ annual fees, I tried staying away from the necessary v7 subscription. So I guess I did sign up for a new membership, or at least a new subscription when that happened. But I also had to lengthen the password, as signing into the website now needs the same info as the app. I'm not sure of what you mean by Membership as that is different from how I used 1Password since starting with the original version in 2007, but yes, I guess that is the case.

  • Thanks @Swivelable. Are you able to sign in at https://my.1password.com/ ? If so, please print a copy of your Emergency Kit:

Get to know your Emergency Kit | 1Password

Once complete please verify all of your data is visible to you in the web app. If it is, please:

    • Uninstall 1Password from the iPhone and reinstall it, using the info from the Emergency Kit to sign in
    • On the MacBook Air select Help > Troubleshooting > Reset All 1Password Data from the 1Password menu bar, then use the kit to sign in

Please let me know how that turns out.

    Ben

    Thank you Ben, that worked.

No problem with resetting data on the Air.
None of the passwords I've used for 1P would unlock the phone's vault, but I was able to use the QR code to reset, so that is also now accepting my current password.

Now I'm trying to get more info on "Auto-copy One-time passwords" but nothing relevant shows up in a search.
Could you direct me to a more in-depth explanation of that feature?

I appreciate your time and help.
    Lliam

    @Swivelable:

Is there anything specific you would like to know? When one of your 1Password items contains an OTP field, when you fill that username and password, the OTP gets copied to your clipboard so you don't have to manually copy and paste it ;)

    Thanks Ana

Nothing specific, just wanted to understand it better to know whether to check it or not.
Guess I'll just leave it on and see how it works
