How do I troubleshoot issues with browser integration?

The browser plugin in Chrome doesn't seem to be able to connect to 1password anymore. I tried uninstalling the plugin and reinstalling it without any luck. How are they supposed to communicate? Should I try reinstalling the 1password app?
