Same OS as my MacBook where this version of 1P6 works fine. New iMac won't sync to Dropbox, won't right-click in Chrome to add data, and when a site is launched from within 1P, won't fill in user/pass details.

1Password Version: 6.8.9
Extension Version: 4.7.5.90
OS Version: OX 10.14.6
Sync Type: Dropbox
Referrer: forum-search:New Mac, IP 6 not working correctly.

Hi @nbu! Welcome to the forum!

Can you please try all the Dropbox troubleshooting steps, if you haven't already?

won't right-click in Chrome to add data and when a site is launched from within 1P, won't fill in user/pass details

Where are you right-clicking exactly? Can you give us an example?

I will try the dropbox troubleshooting again. First time didn't change things. When I'm in a username field, on my MacBook I can right-click to activate 1P and paste the data that way. I don't see this on the new iMac.

@nbu - thanks for the clarification. Did you install 1Password 6 for Mac from the Mac App Store, or did you download/install directly from us? Have you installed the 1Password extension in Chrome? If not, you can get it from the Chrome Web Store. If you downloaded 1Password 6 for Mac from us, and you added your license file, and you've installed the Chrome extension, can you check whether you're having the same troubles in Safari or another browser as well, or is it only Chrome?

It's been so long I honestly don't remember where it came from. Anyway I can tell in the installation? The new iMac with the problems was a migration. Extension in Chrome is there, but incompatible for Safari (IP6). Safari, Firefox, Chrome all don't play happy with 1P on this new iMac.

This is the screenshot in 1P6 on Sync. When I change the None to Dropbox, I get the second screen shot.

It seems 1Password currently thinks you're using folder sync, instead of Dropbox sync. Only one sync method can be active at a time. Go ahead and hit disable sync, then set up syncing with Dropbox.

Thanks @Ben...that seemed to fix all the ills. Much appreciated.

  • Great; glad to hear that worked. If we can be of further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us.
